thinking about display!

I made a detour to get this idea.

I am not sure what is going to be. But I am looking for some materials that I can stack to make a pedestal to display my pieces. 

floor tiles, bricks, wood, plastic boxes, paper, foam.....

Cheap, standard size...

Why am I attracted to this red color?

After black straws, I started to collect different colors.
